Empires (Original Poem)

Low estimations of republics,
The youngest and wealthiest
Setting teeth and being lowered into obscurity
From the time of paradise’s birth
Long zenith hanging up from deep roots,
Intensive social armies, successes
By the age of 50

Since the days of buying promises,
Announcing free grain and postwar consulships
Filibustered gift of quietness
Pardons with swords—
“The state’s crisis is a child’s crisis”—
Bedraggled, bedridden, crib tyranny
